Dr. Jignesh Gala is an accomplished and experienced cataract and vitreoretinal surgeon. He completed his MBBS from the prestigious Grant Medical College and JJ Group of hospitals, in Mumbai. He did post-graduation in Ophthalmology from the renowned Seth G S Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Following post-graduation he went on to pursue a fellowship in Vitreo retinal surgeries at the renowned LV Prasad eye hospital, Hyderabad. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Topiwala National Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai. He is visiting Vitreoretina Consultant at Jagjivan Ram Railway Hospital, Mumbai. He is also the author and reviewer for British Medical Journal case reports and has various publications under his name in national and international journals.
He has performed 4000+ Cataract surgeries. He has a keen interest in the diagnosis and management of Diabetic eye diseases and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD). He has already performed over 3000+ LASER procedures and over 2000+ Intravitreal Injections under topical anaesthesia and are absolutely pain free. He has been exclusively trained for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). He has performed more than 15,000 Ophthlmologic procedures. He is also proficient in the management of surgical retinal conditions like retinal detachment, Vitreous hemorrhage and Macular surgenes. He is a member of All India Ophthalmologic Society and Uveitis Society of India.
